Terms of Use

1. The service

lakebrasil provides access to curated Brazilian public data through an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for artificial-intelligence agents. Access is only through agents connected with an API key; we offer no bulk export and no direct access to the tables.

Usage is charged in prepaid credits, as listed on the pricing page. New accounts receive free credits to try the service.

2. Account and API keys

• You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter into contracts.
• Each account belongs to one person or one legal entity. Do not share your account.
• Keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for all use made with them. Delete keys you no longer use in the console and tell us if you suspect misuse.
• Your account details must be true and up to date.

3. Acceptable use

Your use must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. Among other things, it forbids discrimination, surveillance or profiling of people, re-identification, bulk extraction and resale of the data, and getting around limits.

4. Credits

• Credits are prepaid and consumed at the cost of each call, as published on the pricing page and in the consultas reference.
• Credits are personal and cannot be transferred between accounts.
• For now, credits don't expire. If that changes we'll give advance notice, and the change won't affect credits already bought.
• Prices may change; changes apply to future purchases.

5. Right of withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from a credit purchase within 7 days of buying it (Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, art. 49) and get back the value of the credits you haven't used.

After that period, refund requests are reviewed case by case. Email privacidade@lakebrasil.dev or use the console.

6. Availability (no SLA)

The service is at an early stage and is offered on a best-effort basis, without a service-level agreement (SLA). There may be interruptions, tool changes and maintenance without prior notice.

7. Limitation of liability

The data comes from official sources and goes through quality checks, but it is provided as is. Check important decisions against the original source named in each response.

To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for lost profits or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid in the 12 months before the event. This doesn't limit rights the Consumer Protection Code grants to consumers.

8. Sources and attribution

Every response names its table and original official source. When you publish results, credit the original source and lakebrasil. Source licenses are listed in the data catalog.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that put the service at risk, or when required by law. Where possible we warn you first and give you time to fix the issue.

You can close your account at any time in the console (Settings → Delete account). Unused credits are lost when the account is closed, except for the right of withdrawal in section 5.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll announce material changes in advance by email or in the console, and ask you to accept the new version to keep using the service.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. The courts of São Bernardo do Campo/SP [to be confirmed with legal counsel] have jurisdiction, without prejudice to a consumer's right to sue in the courts of their own domicile.
